Patricia Apollonia Kotero was an American model and singer. Kotero was also a co-star in Prince's 1984 movie Purple Rain. The actress was the co-star of Prince's 1984 film Purple Rain, and the vocalist for the girl group Apollonia 6 In the 80s, the actress-singer Prince christened Apollonia was one of the many female performers that gained by their connection with him. She was born Patricia Kotero in Santa Monica California in 1959, her work started as a model and actress in the late '70s with a role in the television series CHiPS. In 1984, Patricia Kotero was a part of the main woman in the movie Prince's Purple Rain. (During this period, she changed her name.) Then she was replaced by Vanity of the female group Vanity 6 who starred in the film alongside Apollonia 6 under their name. Sex Shooter, a minor hit song in the film's soundtrack, was her biggest chart success. Kotero as well as Prince have a disagreement regarding her career. Apollonia6 broke up and Kotero was not able to keep her romance with Prince. The singer then appeared in couple of films that were minor in the late 1980s (reportedly refusing the opportunity to appear in the follow-up to Purple Rain Under the Cherry Moon), before settling on acting in a role at night for the drama Falcon Crest in 1985-1986. Apollonia could finally release her debut album in the year 1988. Unfortunately, it failed to leave a lasting impression on fans of music and soon faded from the scene. The singer remained busy (if slightly underneath the radar) in the role of actress throughout the following decade, appearing in small film roles on television and released videos for exercises.
